According to the PSA website, it's not clear why the 1909-11 Eddie Plank T206 is one of the rarest cards in the industry.

One theory suggests that the manufacturer destroyed most of the cards due to poor printing. Either way, the card is so rare that PSA valued a NM-MT 8 card at $850,000.

Eddie Plank wasn't just famous for his stats — he was also the first left-handed pitcher to win 300 games. He had 2,246 strikeouts and won 20 games in a season multiple times.

Baseball teams still courted him when he was 42, but he retired to his farm instead.
